The Treasury will sell $40 billion of 4-week bills and $25 billion of year-bills at 11:30 this morning.  In addition, the Treasury has announced a $10 billion 14-day cash management bill auction for tomorrow. more »

The Treasury’s revised plans for the GSE wind-down prompted a number of customer questions on Friday, a couple of which we answer in this week’s newsletter.  Also, this week’s MMO includes a quarterly update on the amount of cash held in transactions accounts eligible for unlimited FDIC insurance under the terms of the Dodd Frank Act.  The aggregate amount of Dodd Frank balances grew very little in the second quarter, but remains large enough to have a significant impact on bill and repo rates if the eventual expiration of the unlimited coverage leads to large deposit outflows. more »
