Intraday Updates

[8:30 Data]    The unexpected narrowing in the June trade deficit boosts our tracking estimate for Q2 GDP to 2% or so.  The initial jobless claims figures were milder than expected, but we remain wary of giving them much weight at this time of the year.

[10:00 Data]  Wholesale inventories were much weaker than expected.  This morning's inventory data will offset the positive GDP impact of the import data. more »

Economic Indicators

Initial jobless claims and the trade deficit are due out at 8:30 this morning. We expect little change in either (365K for claims and $48.5 billion for the deficit). Today’s schedule also includes wholesale inventories at 10:00. more »
